Trainings

America's Opportunity Fund conducts Candidate and Get-Out-the-Vote (GOTV) trainings. Both trainings are aimed at progressive leaders who are thinking of running for elected office or who are ready to run for the next level. Our GOTV trainings educate operatives and activists in the strategies and tactics necessary for a successful Election Day.

All trainings include hands-on political training taught by experienced campaign specialists. Trainings focus on a range of topics including targeting voters; recruiting volunteers; field activities; fundraising and budgeting; message development; persuasion; and Election Day plans.

Participants have received instruction based on a comprehensive curriculum from an outstanding faculty of consultants, and other well-qualified trainers. Participants also gained skills in leadership, political action, and civic participation.

If you'd like us to host a training near you, please contact us.

"The AOF Candidate Training gave me a much greater sense of campaigning and what it really takes to run for public office.  To have access to top political operatives and trainers was invaluable!  All the speakers/trainers were dynamic, informative and highly practical.  The training taught me more about fundraising, public speaking, messaging, building support, GOTV, etc...  everything you need to run and win a campaign!"

"The AOF Training provides valuable insight on the nuts and bolts of a campaign. The program also gives you reflection, insight and a gut check on whether or not this is for you. Some people are well positioned and well equipped to be "the" elected official. And some are not. This program certainly will help you determine that."

"I felt that this training really demystified a lot of the campaign process and made me understand how deliberate every move made by a campaign and candidate should be. The training also gave me a better understanding of how to use the various resources available to a campaign effectively."

"The AOF political candidate's training was an outstanding opportunity for me to build my foundation of knowledge on leadership and political management.  The program taught me the importance of making fundraising calls, microtargeting in minority communities and the great need for more AAPI leaders in the political and public sectors.  Most importantly, I joined a diverse alumni network of aspiring public servants and leaders who are working to improve their communities.  I look forward to meeting the next class and supporting them in their endeavors."
